Here at The MZ Shop Ltd, we're always keen to hear about MZ and Simson riders doing remarkable feats of daring do. So we thought we'd let you know about E2E Slowly Challenge.

To help fundraise for the British Red Cross (BRC) during ‘Red Cross Week’ 2013 (5th to 11th May) Roger will be undertaking the e2e slowly challenge which will involve riding  his 1979 MZ TS150 motorcycle from John O’ Groats to Land’s End (or vice versa – yet to be decided) using mainly minor roads (no Motorways), carrying all camping gear, tools and necessary supplies (except water and petrol) and receiving no outside material assistance.

Roger is inviting other riders to join e2e slowly using motorcycles of under 200c and over twenty five years old. If they want to follow his particular challenge and also support the Red Cross that would be great – although anyone who wants to join in on whatever machine they choose and on their own terms – whether fund raising or not – would be welcome.

The MZ Shop Ltd are pleased to announce that we are now stocking a replacement electronic ignition and coil unit suitable for all 12V 2-stroke ETZ125/150, ETZ250, 251 & 301 motorcycles.

This unit does NOT replace the original generator. What it does is to utilise the original 3-phase generator as a base whilst offering a new solid state coil and electronic pickup to replace either the existing contact breaker/condensor set-up or the original electronic pickup units, such as the ESE and PVL units.

If your top end is worn out and making unseemly noises, why not take advantage of our Cylinder Rebore Service?

How does it work?

You post us your old cylinder and piston which we will inspect and agree with you in advance; the extent of any works to be carried out.

Then, we shall supply a new oversize piston kit in the size agreed with you, comprising of a brand new piston together with a new set of piston rings, a gudgeon pin and circlips. Your cylinder will be expertly rebored in order to perfectly match the new piston which we've supplied.

Your freshly re-bored cylinder shall be returned to you, together with your new piston (and your old one) using Royal Mail's recorded/signed for postage service.

The entire process usually takes between 7 - 14 days.

What does it cost?

We charge £75 for the re-bore service plus the cost of the piston kit at the prices currently shown on our website.

The cost of return postage to UK mainland adresses using Royal Mail's recorded/signed for service is £15 .*

*Please note, this return postage charge also applies for cylinders where the customer has been informed that no work can be carried out by us, for whatever reason.

The MZ Shop Ltd are pleased to announce that we are now official UK Powerdynamo dealers, able to offer a complete range of Powerdynamo Electronic Ignition systems for classic motorcycles.

We have recently added the latest range of electronic ignition systems for MZ and Simson motorcycles to our website. These systems cover the complete range of two stroke MZ motorcycles which were sold in the UK. From the ES125/150 of the late 1960’s right through to the 1990’s ETZ251/301’s, we can supply them for all. We will even supply earlier models on request, subject to the order being secured with a small deposit.

Likewise we also stock conversion kits for the Simson range of lightweight motorcycles available to UK customers, from the 3 speed S50, to the 4 speed S51 and S70’s

However, not wishing to stop there, we also stock Powerdynamo systems for the full range of Jawa and CZ motorcycles which were available to buy in to UK form the 60’s through to the 1990’s.

Of course, as official UK Powerdynamo dealers, with a lead time from as little as one working week, we will be happy to supply our UK customers with any of the available Powerdynamo systems for their motorcycles, from Adler to Zündapp, subject to receipt of a small deposit.

Opening for business on 1^st May 2012

The MZ Shop Ltd has been set up by Phil Speakman and his partner Amanda, in order to supply MZ and Simson parts to the UK. We will open for business on the 1^st May 2012 and we thought we’d better drop you a line so that you know what our plans are:

From the beginning of April 2012, we shall start the herculean task of transferring all of the existing MZ parts stock from Fred Rogers’s Spares & Repairs company, to our new warehouse facilities. During this period we’ll catalogue all of the parts before we add them into our brand new database linked website: www.theMZshop.co.uk

With the aid of this new technology, we hope to build on the fantastic work Fred has already done in keeping MZ and Simson motorcycles firmly where they belong. On the road!

To assist you in finding the part you need. We’ve designed our website around a similar format to the original MZ parts manuals, allowing you to select the model of your machine(s) and from there locate the components you require from the subsequent clearly laid out web pages. Our sophisticated search facility also allows you to locate an individual component from within our range of 6000+ stock components; either by its part number or from its description.

Our postage & packaging  fees are calculated automatically, based on the total weight of the components in your shopping basket and your chosen delivery address. The costs are shown up-front before you make your purchase and are included in the total price, so you can be confident that when you purchase from us, there will be no hidden extras.

Once you’ve placed all the components you need into your shopping basket, you may proceed to our checkout area where you can pay for your purchases by choosing using any one of the following secure payment options:

1.     Secure online payment via your PayPal account.

2.     If you don’t have a PayPal account, that’s not a problem, as you can still pay securely through PayPal using your credit/debit card as a guest customer.

3.       Give us a call and pay over the phone using your debit/credit card
